CoolPro 2800C: Efficient DC RV Air Conditioner

2026-01-27

+2.8M

The Coolpro2800C is a roof-mounted DC air conditioner specially designed for modified vehicles such as caravans and vans. It is compatible with 12V/24V vehicle power supply systems and widely used in caravans (e.g., Ford, Iveco) and engineering vehicles. Adopting a variable-frequency scroll compressor and eco-friendly R134a refrigerant, it has a cooling capacity ranging from 700W to 2600W. When paired with two 180AH batteries at an ambient temperature of 30℃, it can provide continuous cooling for 7–10 hours. With its integrated roof-mounted design (approx. 900×800×162mm) and remote control operation, it fits the limited space of caravans perfectly and features reasonable noise control. It is one of the mainstream choices for caravan modification that balances practicality and compatibility.

Installation Precautions Checklist for Coolpro2800 Caravan Air Conditioner

Pre-installation Preparation
Ensure the caravan roof is flat and has a load-bearing capacity of at least 50kg. Reserve a maintenance space of no less than 20cm, keep away from skylights, solar panels, antennas and other components, and avoid direct sunlight and heat sources.
Verify that all accessories are complete (including main unit, sealing rings, screws, remote controller, wire harness, etc.). Check the unit for no damage and the pipelines for no leakage. Prepare tools such as electric drill, sealant and level.
Perform power-off operation. Ensure the 12V/24V power supply system is compatible with the air conditioner, and plan the wire harness routing and fuse position in advance.

Installation and Fixation
Cut a hole according to the unit dimensions (approx. 900×800×162mm) and smooth the edges. Install sealing rings on the top and bottom of the hole, and apply waterproof sealant to prevent water leakage.
Calibrate with a level and tighten the fixing screws evenly to avoid noise or water leakage caused by unit tilting or uneven stress.
Ensure the external unit’s air vents are unobstructed to maintain smooth airflow and prevent reduced cooling efficiency.

Electrical Connection
Use copper-core wires with a cross-sectional area of no less than 6mm² for the power supply. Install an independent 15–20A circuit breaker, ensure firm wiring and proper insulation protection, and achieve reliable grounding.
Route the control wires separately from the power wires to avoid interference. Check the positive and negative poles after connection and never reverse the polarity.
If a battery pack is used, ensure its capacity is compatible (e.g., two 180AH batteries). Check the matching performance of the inverter/solar charging system.

Commissioning and Finalization
Recheck all wiring and sealing before power-on. Turn on the unit to test the cooling, wind speed and remote control functions, and observe for abnormal noise or water leakage.
Clear installation debris, recheck the waterproof sealing, record installation parameters and keep the after-sales information.

Safety and Maintenance
Keep the power off throughout the installation process to avoid electric shock. Non-professionals are prohibited from disassembling or repairing core components such as the compressor.
Clean the filter screen and heat sink regularly, inspect the wiring and sealing, and reinforce the waterproof sealing before the rainy season.
